I stayed away from most sessions when the "worship band" was trying to get God's attention through noise. I went to the Monday morning session and was impressed with the saneness of everything. The new President will be refreshing.
One of the issues facing the Convention is about Associations. Some Associations no longer meet. That leaves a measure of discretion in the hands of the few.
Associations which do have an active program need to be alert so that they dont get voted out of existence.
Another issue is the interaction with the African United Baptist Association. The CABC and the AUBA can treat each other as sister conventions at one level, but it doesn't translate to such levels as representation on the Convention Histroical Committee, and other Convention bodies.
Many we need a few years experience of AUBA churches linking up with sister churches in their immediate area (i.e. Gibson Woods with Centerville, etc.), before trying to meet again as sister conventions.
